THIRSTY THURSDAY

Today we are putting a spotlight on my top favorite party drinks. I felt it was only right with the holiday season almost coming to a close and New Years tomorrow. So with no further a due LETS GET DRUNK!!!

1. Long Island Iced Tea - This is my favorite drink of all time. It works well in any club setting to get that quick tipsy feeling but you also can hook one up at a house party if you know how to make drinks. The Long Island Iced Tea (LIIT) is the basis of many elaborate mixed-drinks. It dates to the 70's, named after the continental USA's largest island Long Island, in New York. Although it doesn't contain tea, it's taste is similar. The drink sits in the top 5 of most popular cocktails and is regularly mentioned or seen served in television and films (worthy mentions are The Simpsons, Sex and the City and Cruel Intentions).

 1 part vodka

1 part 1800® Tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash Coca-Cola®

   2. My Second favorite drink Orange Juice and Vodka also known as a Screw Driver. Now this is my shit right here. Easy to make and really good. The best thing I would say to do is get some Ciroc, Tropicana Orange Juice and crushed ice. It'll come out so smooth.

   3. My Third favorite drink is the Bahama Mama. Its some what of a girlie drink most would say but thats exactly my point. Its for the females. So ladies check the game. If a man comes to you and offers to buy you a drink and your already drinking a bahama mama and he knows it. Then he effortlessy orders you another one. Isn't that impressive? Well maybe not but anyway check the drink and check the recipe. Try to hook it up for your wife or whomever and let me know what you think.

Ingredients

• 1/2 fluid ounce rum
• 1/2 fluid ounce coconut-flavored rum
• 1/2 fluid ounce grenadine syrup
• 1 fluid ounce orange juice
• 1 fluid ounce pineapple juice
• 1 cup crushed ice

   4. My next favorite drink when you want something quick and good. You go with the Limona Corona. 1 bottle Corona 1 oz Bacardi Limon. Open the Corona. Fill the empty space in the neck in the bottle with the rum. The bottle should be filled to the top. Plug the bottle with your thumb or the palm of your hand. Turn the bottle upside-down so the rum and beer mix. Turn the bottle rightside-up, unplug, and drink.

  5. Now last but not least. The Mahito this one is the female favorite of them all. You can't deny it when your at a bar chicks stay drinking these. Check the pics and the recipe.

1.25 oz Captain Morgan® Original spiced rum
12 mint leaves
1 tbsp sugar
0.5 oz lime juice
2 oz soda

Whip It Wednesday's

This is where we put a spotlight on the hottest cars. No matter the whip from Hot rods to Family sedans. If its hot its hot and if its not its not!

For my first installment of Whip it Wednesday's I'm going to start you off with the 2010 Four door Panamera Porsche. When I say wowzers...I mean wowzers!! I love the feel of this car and the way it handles the curves. It's very roomy also. The price is definitely out of my range but one can dream can't he?

When I first heard about it I thought to myself a four door Porsche, nah it couldn't be, it wouldn't look right but boy was I wrong. Take a look at it for your self read a few specs on it and if you like it you might want to give your local Porsche dealer a visit and atleast give it a test drive.

Tasty Tuesday!!

Tasty Tuesday!!

Today we are talking about some tasty foods and to me tasty is a dessert. MMMMMMMM from chocolate cakes to ice cream to apple pie. I'm just a dessert type of guy.

The first one on the list is from the Restaurant PF Changs and the name of this dessert is Banana Spring Rolls. Six warm, crispy bites with coconut-pineapple ice cream and drizzled with caramel and vanilla sauces. When I tell you that this is of the sexiest Desserts I've had in a long time. Type of dessert that makes you want to make love to it.

MIX IT UP MONDAY

This is the day we mix it up a little bit. You know a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Just something to start your week off with.

OK this past weekend was a weird one, you would think the fact that it was Christmas would be great but it was just OK.

For one Thursday I had to go to Pep Boys and get an emergency brake service done on my car. The price to get them fixed wasn't that bad but when your not prepared to spend money, it really feels like it hurts your pockets.So I had miss a day at work plus I had to change all my shopping plans to Friday..which is the dreaded Christmas Eve. lol

So the next day on to Walmart!! Where you'll meet the funniest looking people in this world. The great thing was that I purchased my big ticket item, A Sponge Bob bedroom set for my 3yr old son online and I picked up a few more toys for my nephew and niece. The funniest thing was that everybody was staring the Spongebob set, like "where did you get that from" and I would crush there dreams when I would say online!! lol. Don't judge me this is my only happy moments of the shopping day.

Besides some crazy life changing moments last year around Christmas time, this Christmas wasn't so bad. Everyone I gave a present too was happy with there gift. We had dinner at my wife's Aunts house and it was cool. We ate like it was a mini thanksgiving and capped the evening with board games and shot the breeze like good ole times. It's so funny how life can change drastically right in front of your eyes.

Now Sunday was terrible. First and foremost there was an 18 inch winter snow storm that pretty much disabled everything. In the mist of that I caught a damn stomach virus WTF?
It had me throwing up and not be able to move for most of the day. Terrible situation to be in when you have lots of work to do!!

Follow Your Lead

What's going on my followers and friends? We have another installment of the life and times of DeVaughn Burke. Today lets talk about this new song that I've been heavily inspired by lately "Follow Your Lead" by Joe Buddens off of his new mixtape "Mood Muzik 4". Its fairly new song with a great video. Lets not get into the video too much right now but lets talk about the content of the song. What message I received from this song is no matter the situation follow god or your personal spiritual most high. And it inspires me when I listen to this song because life can really throw you around alot and sometimes you lose your faith in God. This song kind of brings me back to where I'm supposed to be. Knowing and realizing there is a road I need to follow no matter how hard it is. It must be followed to get where you need to go.

My Twins!!!

Yes after a long and grueling pregnancy me and my wife finally had our twins yesterday morning. I'm so glad they are finally out and doing great. They both came out very tall. One is 17 inches and the other one is 18 inches. I will not letting out the names on the internet. Sorry somethings should be left to be private.

But all in all it was very different experience. It was done by C section instead of being a "regular" birth. Being behind that blue curtain and just imaging what they are doing down there to your wife or loved ones stomach is a gut wrenching thought.

TWISTED TUESDAY

Welcome to what we call Twisted Tuesday. This is where we think of something regular and try to twist the view of it as much as possible.

Ok soooooo where do we start? I was thinking maybe twist the topic of sex up a little bit. Well pregnancy to be exact. Remember that episode of the Cosby show? Where all the men in Huxtable household became pregnant?
What if that really happened in real life? Like all of us so called manly men got pregnant by our women? To be honest I don't know if I could handle that. Ladies go through alot with pregancy and periods. Cramps, bleeding and all that other stuff on a regular basis. Its a terrible situation to be in. Plus you push a person out of you and where would it come out of?
Damn I don't even know why I started this topic today its kind of grossing me out. lol

Make Money Mondays

Hey its another installment of "Make Money Monday" with yah boy DV$1.
Ok so for those that don't know what "Make Money Monday" is its the segment of my blog that deals with gettin that gwop, cheese, cheddar, cake and cash.

Ok so today we going to talk about the "Drug trade". Now listen making money through the drug trade isn't half bad. You get to set your own hours. Your outside most of the day. You don't have to be stuck in a office setting 8 hrs a day. You deal with lots of different "Customers". You have different options of selling everything from weed, crack, dope, coke, speed, extasy, pills and even everyday medical pills.

As far as the return on investment is great! I'm not going to tell you or break down any prices but trust me there is money to be made. But you just have to have the best location. Because location is everything.

Now that brings us to the pitfalls of the drug trade. First and foremost its illegal and you will end up in jail. Jail is not a cool place to be just trust me on this one.

Second you can get shot or killed just for sellling on somebody elses block or corner. So if your not a street dude with street connects this might not be a good option for you but it is a very good source for income if you feel the reward out weighs the risk.

When Shit Hits The Fan

Everybody loves the good times
When money is good
Life is straight no worries
But what happens when shit hits the fan.
Remember that ticket that you got a while back and it turned into a warrant. It suspended your license you get pulled over by the cops and now you get locked up for having a bullshit warrant out.
What happens when you get laid off from work in the worst recession we've had in yrs
What happens when you just don't have the money to fix your problems?
You make a ton of mistakes and don't take care of the problems when they arrive and wait for the shit to hit the fan!
Now a days you have to have a fall out plan. Trust me its a hard lesson to learn but you need a fall out plan. What do I mean by fall out plan?
I mean you have to know that nothing lasts forever especially good times. You can have bad times way longer then good times.
So please save for a rainy day and also try to take care of problems when they arise and not when "shit hts the fan".

Family

Its so crazy how some family members are. They will stab you in the back. Do things to you that they wouldn't do to there worst enemy. Its such a shame but its the truth. Family is supposed to stick together and have eachothers back but in reality most family members wouldn't be there for you and the ones that usually help eachother out is the ones other family members shit on.

I'm mean its a cold world out there and if you don't have any family support then what do you have. Just a bunch of people running around with no family values. I really think the way you treat your immediate family is the way you'll treat me in a relationship or a freindship. Plus I also believe the fact there are no family values in our community it just repeats the cycle of ignorance.

We have to do better people!!
